What are the minimum entry requirements to the programme?
For entry in to the Civil Engineering N1-2, you require:- Grade 10; or
- Grade 12 Certificate; or
- Equivalent qualification.
For entry in to the Civil Engineering N3, you require:
- N2 Certificate; or
- Grade 12; or
- Equivalent qualification.
For entry in to the Civil Engineering N4-6, you require:
- N3 - N5 Certificates; or
- Equivalent qualification
Which subjects make up a Civil Engineering?
In order to obtain a Nated National Certificate Civil Engineering N1-2), a student is required to take a total of 4 subjects.
- Mathematics
- Building Science
- Building Drawing
- Bricklaying and Plastering Theory; or
- Plumbing Theory; or
- Carpentry and Roofing Theory
In order to obtain a Nated National Certificate (Civil Engineering N3), a student is required to take a total of 4 subjects.
- Mathematics
- Building Science
- Building Drawing
- Building and Civil Technology
In order to obtain a Nated National Certificate (Civil Engineering N4-6), a student is required to take a total of 4 subjects.
- Mathematics
- Building Administration
- Building and Structural Construction
- Building and Structural Surveying; or
- Quantity Surveying
How long is the qualification?
The Nated National Certificate (Civil Engineering), programme is a full or part time three (03) months programme at each of the Nated (N). A student is issued with a certificate on the successful completion of each Nated (N) of study, that is N1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
